Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GRG, OTC Other: GARWF) announced today significant progress at its 100% owned Caballos Porphyry Copper project located along the Chilean border in western La Rioja Province, Argentina in an emerging porphyry copper-gold belt that is currently the focus of a number of large drilling programs.
Golden Arrow commenced a program of geological mapping and sampling in October at the start of the Andean summer field season. Initial results have confirmed and extended high-grade porphyry copper and gold mineralization discovered last season which included 12m averaging 2.4% within an 18m continuous chip sample in an area with limited exposure (see September 8, 2011 News Release). Polished section microscope work indicates the majority of mineralization is primary chalcopyrite disseminated in diorite porphyry host, with lesser secondary copper oxides.
This field season a new mineralized porphyry exposure has been located beneath 0.5m of soil cover 50m uphill from the initial discovery outcrop. A composite chip sample collected from a 6m hand trench averaged 0.60% copper and 0.35 g/t Au over 5m. In addition, 600m southwest of these principal outcrops, a 10m wide dioritic porphyry outcrop with similar visible copper mineralization (assays pending) has recently been identified.
Although the extent of the mineralized outcrop is limited, and there are non-mineralized intermediate rocks outcropping between and around the mineralized zones, Golden Arrow interprets this style of mineralization as being significant and it may represent dykes or apophyses emanating from a large buried copper — gold porphyry body.

Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GRG, OTC: GARWF) announced today that it has received a quarterly royalty payment of US$571,428 from its 1% NSR on Yamana Gold Corp.’s Gualcamayo Gold mine in San Juan, Argentina. The receipt of the third quarter royalty payment, ending September 2011, brings Golden Arrow’s treasury balance to more than $4.0 million. The Company is well-funded and continues to acquire advanced-stage projects, while leveraging its high quality exploration project portfolio and exploration dollars through attracting partners to fund work on its projects.

Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GRG and OTC Other: GARWF) announced today that recent ongoing surface work has led to the discovery of the San Alberto skarn zone at its 100% owned Don Bosco property La Rioja Province, Argentina. Surface sampling results from San Alberto include individual rock grab and chip samples with values up to 11.2% copper, 9.7 g/t gold and 221g/t silver.
The newly discovered San Alberto zone is located 1km northeast of the previously-announced El Pircarda zone, where intense skarn alteration and mineralization outcrops over a 700m by 150m area; currently open to extension in all directions. Significant composite rock chip samples at San Alberto include 11m averaging 0.53 g/t Au, 46 g/t Ag and 1.77 % copper from a massive amphibole+sulphide skarn band.

Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GRG and OTC Other: GARWF) announce this morning that the Company has received from Vale S.A. through its wholly-owned subsidiary Vale Exploracion Argentina S.A., the $US 100,000 option payment required to be made by the first anniversary of the agreement pertaining to the Company’s Mogote copper-gold-silver porphyry/epithermal project in San Juan Province and its Purulla copper-moly porphyry project in Catamarca Province, Argentina.

Golden Arrow Resources (OTC Other: GARWF; TSX-V: GRG) has staked the Caballos property, which covers more than 22,800 hectares of a prospective porphyry copper and epithermal gold-silver district along the Chilean border in western La Rioja Province, Argentina. The Company has completed two initial prospecting/sampling campaigns on Caballos, identifying a new high-grade porphyry copper showing, the Caballos Copper Zone, and the Refugio de Plata Zone, a partially exposed vein/breccia silver target. Highlights from limited initial sampling include:
-12m @ 2.4% copper from a composite rock chip sample across a diorite porphyry outcrop at the Caballos Copper Zone.
-1m @ 303 g/t silver and 0.11 g/t gold from a chip sample of mineralized breccia at the Refugio de Plata Zone.
Golden Arrow plans to establish a field camp at the Caballos property in October to support intensive sampling, mapping and geophysical surveys on the property aimed at delineating targets for drill testing later in the exploration season.
